Food
Pantry
Many of us live a comfortable life where a table
of healthy, satisfying food is often taken for granted.
It seems hard to believe for many of us, but there
are individuals and families right in our community
who cannot afford the simple blessing of a healthy
meal. Maybe its financial hardship, disability,
or other reasons, but it is a need that we cannot
overlook. The Food Pantry Program provides healthy
and balanced, non perishable food items and food
vouchers.
Financial Assistance
In our times of economic prosperity, many have seen
it pass them by. They work long hours for low pay,
or maybe a disability or health problem has plagued
them. Now in a crisis, they find it difficult to
pay basic life necessities, the electric bill, the
water bill or the rent. Some unfortunate people
in this situation do not qualify for public assistance
or other assistance might be pending.
The Financial Assistance Program provides partial
assistance with rent, utilities and other family
needs where there is no money or other funding available.
Case Management Program
With
our goal of improving family well being, this program
takes a comprehensive and holistic strengths-based
approach to address the needs of individual and
families and promote effective service outcomes.
Special Programs
Our special programs include:
Tutoring, holidays activities, back to school drives,
health fairs, community improvement projects, and
adult support programs.

We used
to see them on the street, with keys in their hands…children,
of all ages, with nowhere to go, and no one to guide
them…a single parent working long hours couldn’t
be there…or two parents struggling to pay
the
bills…and no one to lend a helping hand. Meanwhile,
our youth, our future, needed the nurturing help
of our community to guide them on the right path
in their young, formative years.
The H.O.P.E. Outreach After School Enrichment Program
at Palma Nova Manufactured Housing Community serves
the children at risk in this neighborhood. The program
encourages children to develop caring relationships
and to participate in constructive activities including
exposure to the arts and sciences. Our value-based
program emphasizes respect, kindness, cooperation,
and participation in a nurturing atmosphere where
children can grow, learn, and have fun. Some of
the weekly components of our program include circle
time with music, song, dance, story time, science
demonstrations, arts and crafts, reading, table
games, outdoor play and sports activities, and homework
help. We also provide a nutritious snack. We celebrate
special days such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter
and Mother’s Day.
